Draper, Utah · Youth cycling

Get kids off the couch and onto bikes.

SubGravity Cycling supports four youth and race programs across Utah, working directly with about 500 young riders and their families, from first-timers to nationally competitive racers. We help keep those kids riding with gear we trust and bikes that work.

1 in 5kids get enough activity

Kids ages 6 to 17 need about 60 minutes of physical activity every day. Only about one in five actually get it, and the number drops sharply in the teen years. A bike is one of the easiest ways to close that gap.

Fitness that sticks

Riding builds endurance and strength without feeling like a workout, so kids keep coming back.

Outside, not on a screen

Practice means hours on trails and dirt roads instead of hours indoors.

Confidence and grit

Cleaning a climb or a rock roll they walked last month teaches kids they can get better at hard things.

A team to belong to

Kids find friends and coaches who show up for them, regardless of who finishes first.

Programs we support

Riders at every level

These programs are independent and run by their own coaches and volunteers. We support them with our time, our tools and our know-how, from a kid's first group ride to the national start line.

How we show up

Across these programs we work directly with about 500 young riders and their families, and we give more than 200 hours a year. Most of it happens at the trailhead, on the trail and in the workshop.

Ride leading

Leading group rides so more kids can get out at their own pace, safely.

Coaching

Skills, pacing and race-day coaching that builds confident, capable riders.

Volunteering

Practices, races and events need adults who show up. We do.

Repair and maintenance

Fixing what breaks and preventing what would, so practice is about riding.

Quality equipment

Sourcing gear that holds up and fits young riders, at fair prices.

Families

Supporting the families behind the riders

Every young rider comes with a parent driving to practice, packing snacks and trying to figure out which bike to buy. Youth cycling can feel expensive and confusing from the sidelines. With about 500 families across the programs we support, we try to make it easier for every one of them.

Straight buying advice

What size, what's worth the money and what isn't. No upselling a kid who will outgrow it next season.

Fit for growing riders

Saddle, bars and cleats adjusted as kids grow, so the bike keeps fitting the rider.

Race-day ready

Help with what to pack, how to fuel and hydrate, and a pre-race check so the morning goes smoothly.

Parents ride too

Plenty of parents catch the bug. We help moms and dads get on gravel, road and trail bikes of their own.

Repair and preventive maintenance

Keeping young riders rolling

Kids outgrow bikes, crash bikes and forget to charge things. A bike that gets checked before it breaks keeps a kid at practice instead of on the sidelines. Our workshop handles the repairs and the preventive work for riders in the programs we support.

  • Preventive maintenance before the season and before races
  • Trailside and post-practice repairs
  • Bike setup and fit for growing riders
  • Power meters, computers and tubeless setup
